Our mason bee houses are crafted in our mill using the same amazing lumber we use for our beehives!
Mason bees are native, solitary bees that nest in tubes. They pollinate a smaller, immediate area in early spring, and then hibernate until the next year. They are excellent guests in fruit orchards and home and community gardens. Mason bees do not produce honey, and are considered 'stingless.'
By making mason bee houses, we further minimize our waste by using every scrap and off-cuts from our clear, FSCⓇ certified lumber. Houses are sanded for a smooth finish and can be sealed with tung oil for extra water runoff and longevity. Small key notch in back for easy hanging.
FSCⓇ certified Sugar Pine or Douglas Fir

This product is nice and simple but I was under the impression it came with starter nesting tubes. It does not. You have to order those separately, FYI.
Otherwise excited to see how it works.
I can't wait to give these a try next spring. My makeshift bee tube holders are past due being replaced, and these sturdy structures should last a very long time.
Wish I ordered more tubes for the inside, but other than that I love it.
these are very sturdy, made of thick wood. i coated them w/ tung oil and expect them to outlast me.
I was so excited to get these houses to expand our support for pollinators in the area. I love the idea of these hexagonal homes, but unfortunately the quality of the product was very disappointing. One of the three houses had a wall separated (some staples used to put it together had not entered the wall cleanly and it fell apart as I was adding the tubes.) I had to pull out my air gun and re-enforce the work. Additionally the joints were not as clean as I would have liked. When looking at the house face on, there are gaps in the joints, it is not a tight fit. Ultimately these will be a nice addition to our garden, but my standards for a quality product are higher than what was provided.
