Overview
The Bee Snug All Season hive roof is the product of years of field testing prototypes, material sourcing, research, and industrial design. Exploration of non-traditional hive designs, such as the Warre hive and its quilt box; natural tree cavities honey bee colonies tend to nest in; and discussions with and admiration for the work of Dr. Thomas Seeley led us down a long road to find the perfect balance between a bee-centric design that truly made a healthier hive cavity, aesthetics for the beekeeper's apiary, and sustainable, local manufacturing. We're extremely pleased with the results, and we think your bees will be, too.

In the All Season Roof we've incorporated years of research into a design that makes it easier for your bees to manage temperature and humidity year round. Whether it's a stifling hot summer or frigid winter, this roof dramatically reduces temperature and humidity fluctuation.

There's magic inside: Western red cedar construction, two-inch thick R8 natural hemp insulation, louvered vents, and sloped aluminum composite shingles all lead to the best temperature retention in a beehive roof. Whether your bees are using evaporative cooling to keep the hive cool in the summer, or clustering and shivering in the winter to keep warm, this roof works with their natural methods of temperature and humidity management.
