The only negative thing I have to say about this jacket is that the image here shows a metal zipper. The jacket does not have a metal zipper, and I feel that the images here should represent that fact.
However, the jacket seems to be doing its job. I’m a first time beekeeper and I wanted this sort of veil and ventilation for optimum visibility, and because it gets hot here in Central Oregon.
I’ve used the jacket about 5 times now! I like it!
Excellent. Well made. Differences - extra velcro at key points. Veil is the “Mountie” type (my personal preference) instead of the “hood” type that most companies sell.
I love the jacket. all of the zippers are a little 'sticky' and get stuck from time to time. It's really one of those 'hold your mouth right' kinda things. They have to be aligned just right or they won't budge. one of my thumb straps came apart from the seam the 4th time i put the jacket on, but i just sewed it back on. The jacket is great quality aside from those two things, which really aren't major and the overall quality of the jacket makes it easy to overlook the minor things. I have recommended to my mom that she doesn't buy any jacket except for this one.
I am new to beekeeping and my friends that beekeep told me that i was going to burn up in the summer in a bee jacket!! Tennessee gets a bit warm and humid in the summer. Love the jacket! I wear a light t shirt under the jacket and you can feel the breeze blowing! Definitely worth the money.
I have received no stings while wearing this jacket my only issue is that the hat is entirely too big. I ordered the jacket one size bigger than normal but I have a large head and rarely have an issue with hats being too big. This veil/hat is Way too big. It moves around and ends up falling forward and blocking my view. I wish it had a strap or some kind of adjustment in it.
