Our Langstroth screened bottom boards are made from clear FSCⓇ certified wood. Choose Douglas Fir, Sugar Pine, or Western Red Cedar. Stainless steel screen is durable and beautiful. A corrugated plastic insert slides in and pulls out for easy ventilation and cleaning.

Bottom boards

I have been a bee keeper 49 years my dad was one old school always had solid bottoms I started using screen bottoms no luck with them switched them over to solid bottoms all popular wood doing well help a old school man in Bryson city he was 96 years old when he passed had 83 hives all solid bottoms some hives were 75 years old no problems that tells us something would you say good hives

Looks well built

I haven't used them yet, but I like the way they look and I like the distance between the slide-in bottom board and the screened bottom. Also feels very solid.

Very good product

The cedar bottom boards are well-built and handle the elements, especially when treated with tung oil. We were especially impressed with the slots in which to slide in verroa mite boards.

Waiting for spring

I am currently waiting for delivery of the nuc of bees, then spring will be close at hand...I hope! I am new to bee keeping. Last winter I made the error of insufficient air circulation...among other errors. This bottom board assembly will be better than the solid bottom.
