I love this hive box. It’s beautiful, well-made, and functional. The workmanship is impeccable. I started beekeeping with run-of-the-mill hive boxes that have now warped and, while they look very pastoral, don’t have the level of solid aesthetic appeal that the beethinking boxes have. I won’t ever be a keeper of dozens of hives; I can choose beauty and function over bargain pricing. And this hive box is certainly both beautiful and functional.
Just got these put together today. Will be moving the bees in later this week, can wait. They look great, went together flawlessly.
Very well constructed. Fit together nicely and seems durable...only time will tell. shipping quick and packaging strong.
I ordered 2 of these 10 frame pine boxes. A couple of minutes of sanding cleaned up all the splinters left from routing. No instructions were included. Boxes took about 4 minutes each to glue and screw. Boxes are 5/16ths of an inch narrower than all of my other boxes. Makes me worry about water intrusion unless I swap this one to the bottom. I put the frames in one box, no problem. On the second box, I got eight frames in, but the last two wouldn't drop in. It appears the boxes weren't routered out enough or deep enough. I'll sand them down so they fit.
Easy to assemble, less than 5 minutes per box. NO instructions were included. Glue and screw. Boxes are the same length as my current 10 frames, but 5/16ths of an inch narrowe. I hope it doesn't allow water intrusion during rain. And I have boxes from two different manufacturers that fit perfectly, so that tells me these are the odd size, not them. One minute with a sanding block at the manufacturer would have cleaned up the boxes and removed splinters nicely. Overall, I'm happy with them. Time to get them shipped and for them to arrive was appropriate.
